Thanks to style stars like David Beckham, Idris Elba, and Kevin Hart, the suit-sneaker look is the menswear trend of the moment, and any mover and shaker should give it a try.  It’s effortlessly cool, plus who wouldn’t love wearing sneakers to work all day?  Here are a few ways to pull it off like a pro:

PRISTINE PLEASE!

The key to this look is keeping it sophisticated with a clean sneaker. DIRTY SNEAKERS WILL NOT WORK.  Reserve those for yard work and painting, but definitely not with a suit.

LIMIT TO LUXE

The more high-quality the sneaker looks, the stronger your suit outfit will be. You don’t need to spend a fortune on Ferragamos or Yeezys, but they should look like quality leather footwear. These Rockport are a great example at 89.95.

IF THE SUIT FITS…

If your suit doesn’t fit you won’t look sleek, you’ll just look silly. A baggy suit and sneakers come across more like blister-coping than fashion risk-taking.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

To keep your attire and footwear on par, avoid more formal suit features like pinstripes, french cuffs, and peak lapels. Since this is a modern look opt for contemporary details like 2 button-jackets, no pant breaks, and no pant cuffs.

PAY A COMPLIMENT

For beginners (or the more conservative male), pair complimentary colors together just as you would with a suit. Pair a black suit with black sneakers, a blue suit with brown sneakers, and a gray suit with either color. A great burgundy sneaker option will also work wonders with black, blue, and/or gray.

BE BOLD

If you are a sneaker head or an old pro at pulling this look off, go for it! Wear more colorful kicks. As long as there is a common color in your ensemble pulling things together, it should work!
